A set of marvelous blazing eyes. Check!
A perfect / semi-perfect/ imperfect nose. Check!
A pair of cautious ears. Check!
An innocent smile. Check!
hands legs hair... check, check ,check!!!!
A 5 - 7 million years after man’s evolution I still wonder how much have we really changed! Is there an ape residing in all of us? And if there is one, is it still strong enough to mark our characteristics? Nothing’s sure as the missing links to prove this are certainly MISSING!
A little more knowledge and a power to speak and here we are, poles apart from our genetic cousin, ruling the world as if we own it! Trying so hard to be the masters of all that we survey. Always striving for that something extra, that something more. Taking away all that is there to take. Ravaging, rather than relishing, what is bestowed upon us. Always aiming to be one up on the others. improving ourselves constantly in the art of leading the proverbial rat race.
Just consider our smiles. Our so-called ancestors still have that innocence in their smiles that reaches up to their eyes, whereas our smiles, most often than not, reflect the cunningness, the double standards, the corruption and the meanness that we have adopted so deeply in our lives.
Now what actually have we gained from our evolution from apes to man? A lot.. you’ll all agree. But whether it has all been worthwhile is another story altogether. Wasn’t that ‘devil may care’ attitude so much more enjoyable and better than this life full of cares and worries? No wonder than that the subtle glint in the apes’ eyes conveys that they are having a jab at man’s pride in living in a fool’s paradise.
Apes are synonymous with all things foolish. Of course no man would ever like to be termed a fool. But that is one trait that we still have left in us from our earlier form. Although we strive so hard to camouflage it for obvious reasons. Oh! If we could just let our hair down sometimes and let that foolishness take over! Walk a crowed road singing out loud… dancing in the middle of a metro to the music on our I-pods… scream out loud to show your emotions… move around without a care in the world… and most importantly show your true self out to the world... No harm trying .Don’t you agree? After all a little letting go doesn’t take away from us anything that we have achieved! So friends, Apes or Man, whatever you’d prefer yourself to be… everyone is leading a dog’s life at the end of the day, hectic as hell , unstable and unreliable. Then what’s the big deal in exploring our true senses!
Here’s a dash of wishful thinking or rather an idea! Suppose man invents a way to switch over to his earlier life for say a short period of time and then revert back to his present form! What a revelation would it be! And it sure would provide the comic relief that is so much missing in our lives these days. It would be a real treat for us to go back in time and get a gist of where we truly belong to!
The life we are leading is nothing but a big fat lie… a lie we love to tell us everyday as we wake up … where’s that innocence gone, that larger than life attitude, that joy in the first few raindrops, that smile on our faces while we wash away our self in the ocean waves, that hearty laugh on our silly doings…lets get the wild attitude back in action, lets just try and APE the APE and get our true emotions back to life!!!

nice job kriti
Great job i must say,it gives a jolt to me atleast,if not anybody else,a new perspective i have to agree, but seriously is this post a general post about how all of us feel,or is this an account of personal feelings and experience, coz honestly i enjoy my life nearly the same way as you described it,on the wild side, being a human, plus we have to agree there is a huge difference between wild and loose,rt?Surprisingly the point about a dog's life?rly?i'm not leading one,but well thats just a personal opinion and i'm sure you must have had enough reasons for this.A great article, very insightful, and though i may disagree with you,but there will be a lot who will agree, great job anyways :)
